Salsa Smack-down project For this project, we created or found a Salsa or Guacamole recipe, and translated it into Spanish, then created that Salsa or Guacamole using the recipe. I think that the U.S. has definitely been influenced by Mexican culture. Things such as food and traditions that originate in Mexico, can be found all over the U.S., especially in states closer to the border, like Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California. This can be shown with foods like Tex-Mex and the fact that many families in the U.S. speak some Spanish, and some even celebrate Mexican holidays. I learned several important Spanish words during this project such as Pizca, Quita, Aplasta, and many others. During this project, I really liked creating the recipe, because I was able to take control of my work, and make it however I liked, while still practicing my Spanish when translating it. During this project, I didn't really struggle with anything, except for finding a few difficult new words while I was translating the recipe.
